What are the Brightspace system recommendations?
Brightspace supports the latest updated versions of most browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge. How do I know if my class is in Brightspace or Blackboard?
If your course is in Brightspace, you will have access to a tile on your SSO login page called “D2L”. Click on that link and look for your class. If you need additional support, reach out to your NU advisor.

How can I change my notification settings?
To update your notification settings, login to Brightspace and click on your name in the upper right of the screen. Then, click Notifications from the drop-down menu. You can choose to receive alerts via email or SMS for announcements, grade updates and feedback, and more.
Why can’t I view all of the course content right now?

I received an error message when trying to access course content. What should I do?
What should I do if I am kicked out of an exam?
Reach out your instructor right away and explain the situation. Then, return to the quiz and see if you can open it again. If your computer froze or your internet connection was lost, it is possible that the questions you had already answered were saved. Keep in mind, the timer will still be running if it is a timed quiz. If you are unable to reopen the quiz, contact Brightspace Support at 1-877-325-7778.
How do I submit an assignment?

How can I delete an assignment I submitted?
Once a file has been successfully submitted to an assignments submission folder, it cannot be deleted. Reach out to your instructor to explain the situation and ask them to reset the assignment.

Where do I access my textbook / eBook / DART?
If your course offers a DART eBook, you can find it in the DART eBook section of your course in Brightspace. To find the DART eBook, follow these steps: Getting Started > DART eBook (Click HERE for Access) > VitalSource Digital Materials.
How do I opt in or out of DART?
All students in courses with DART eBooks are auto opted-out at the beginning of term. Click on the DART eBook section in your Brightspace course to opt-in.
